Six Important Landing Page Design Tips

People spend an average of 3-5 seconds viewing a landing page and if something doesn’t strike them as interesting, they move on. That’s why it’s so important to create an effective landing page that appeals to your customer base at first glance. And it goes without saying that the better your landing page is designed, the more conversions you’ll gain.
So before creating your next landing page, keep these considerations in mind:
Visual Appeal. Think carefully about the design of your landing page. Avoid creating a page that is cluttered with too many graphics. The design should be clean, well-thought-out and attractive. Arrange information in a way that is easy to read by using bullets, call-outs, and the like.
Direct Language. Now is not the time to be wishy-washy. Use personalized, action-packed language—the type of direct verbs that you would use on a resume, for example. Think in terms of phrases like, “Sign Up Now” or “Download Here.”
Don’t Bury Your CTA. The call-to-action (CTA) should be clearly visible and above the fold i.e. no scrolling required. Most people who visit your landing page will be reviewing its contents quickly. Don’t bury the CTA by forcing viewers to scroll for the “Sign Up Now” button.
Consumer Focused. Your landing page should focus on what you can do for your clients. Remember that your goal is to get a conversion. So, focus on the services that you provide and how you can help them meet their goals. In the process, avoid language that could be construed as pushy or condescending. Instead, aim to be personable and helpful.
Clearly Identifiable Contact Info. Be cognizant of the fact that not everyone is comfortable signing up for things online like newsletters. Make sure that your landing page indicates other ways that potential clients can reach you—for example, by telephone or email address.
Use A Testimonial. In the mortgage industry, trust is crucial. One way to earn trust is through the usage of testimonials. If you have a glowing testimonial from a former client, consider using a call-out and sticking it above the fold on your landing page. This is an effective way to sell your services without bragging directly.

Social Media: Seven Ways to Let the World Know You Exist Online

You've worked hard to make your website the best representation of your business and brand. You've written content that sells who you are and why potential clients should work with you. You've provided material that is engaging and informational. You've done all the necessary steps to ensure your website is a successful marketing tool. But does anybody know about it other than you?
Website marketing is not a sit-around-and-wait-to-see-who-visits type of marketing. Like anything else you do, you have to work hard and put in the time and effort to see results. Below are seven ways to let everyone around you know they can find you on the web. Having a strong social media presence is essential in today's business.
⦁ Your website needs to go everywhere. If you advertise any part of your contact information, your web address should be included as well. Think classifieds, business card and even your email signature.
⦁ Use offline methods to promote your site. Some examples could include:  marketing postcards, door hangers, car magnets, and other marketing material.
⦁ Get other websites to link to your site. Reach out to your contacts such as colleagues, appraisers and realtors, attorneys, etc. and ask them to link to your site (and in return you can reciprocate the favor). This will not only be another way to promote your website, but it will also help improve your rankings in search engines.
⦁ Use your domain’s email address in all business that you do. If your site is ⦁ www.xyz.com, then your email should be ⦁ you@xyz.com. This helps people easily identify the two together and it helps build your brand.
⦁ Enroll the help of a blog. Unique content helps with your search engine rankings, so take advantage of the power of a blog. A blog allows you to offer fresh, relevant, regular content to your visitors. If visitors are attracted to your information, they are more likely to follow future posts, hang around your site and promote your site to others.
⦁ Consider a pay-per-click advertising campaign. Designate part of your marketing budget to various search engines. They will publish your link on relevant sites and web search results and you only pay if someone clicks on the link to your site.
⦁ Word of mouth marketing. Don’t forget how powerful your own voice can be. Tell prospective clients, friends, family, current clients, referrals, and partners about your site.
Don’t let all your hard work go to waste. Utilize all the ways in which you can help promote and drive traffic to your site.

Marketing: Following up and how it will increase your sales

Everyday we interact with different types of professionals. These professionals can be anything from young entrepreneurs to experienced venture capitalists. No matter the level the professional may land, there is one common thread between them all-the art of follow up (or the lack thereof).
Normally after the first or second interaction with the said professional, you get a line that goes something like this: “I’m looking forward to the opportunity of working together. In the next week, I will follow up with (list of things to review).” From here, the results vary. The follow up (or again, lack thereof) goes one of three ways:
#1: The follow-through-ers.
The professionals that land in this group do exactly what they promise. If they say they will call you in a week about XYZ then they will. They demonstrate signs of being organized, diligent and focused. When you receive something from someone in this group, you are bound to pay more attention and process the information because it’s on track with what’s been agreed upon or promised. These groups of people prove to be more successful and enjoyable to work with.
#2: The ones full of excuses.
This group of people makes up for the majority of possible follow-ups. This group tends to be delayed or sends something that totally overlooks what was discussed or promised or gives reasons as to why they haven’t done said deed. This group demonstrates disorganization and laziness. However, sometimes this group sends a legitimate excuse for the delay in follow-up. But 80 percent of the time you can see right through it. We suppose you could at least give them credit for remembering they didn’t follow up yet.
When dealing with these so-called-excusers, you tend not to take the information as seriously. Or if you truly need the information they owe you, you may give them a second chance to redeem themselves with another follow up opportunity. If they fail a second time, you cross them off your list. This group is usually successful, but you never see their true potential.
#3: What follow up?
The remaining group is made up of the people who never bother to follow up at all. Not a single word. While annoying, consider it a time saver for yourself-you don’t have to waste your time working with them. If you run into them again, they will probably act like nothing happened and promise to reconnect with you. (Occasionally, they’ll remember and apologize for their ‘wrong-doings.’) This group never gets ahead and complains that they don’t understand why.
Which group do you belong to?
Even the follow-through-ers slip sometimes-no one has a perfect track record. But it’s a matter of how you conduct yourself when you do slip. Do you acknowledge your error and apologize?
Decide which group you want to belong to. Make it your personal goal to follow up with your clients when you say you will every time. You’ll be amazed at the opportunities that arise because of it.
